Sound Up was created to find, train and develop the next generation of diverse creators. We want to make space for aspiring female creators between the ages of 18 and 27 to share their stories with the world. You don’t need previous experience or any equipment to join the program. Just a great idea.
There are no active events at the moment. Stay tuned to be the first to know about new events.
Launched in 2018, Sound Up has grown from a local initiative into a global program – reaching hundreds of aspiring creators around the world. Four years on and we’ve now launched in Mexico with the goal of giving young women their start in an industry they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.
We invite up to ten aspiring creators to join each program event. For the first four weeks, you’ll immerse yourself in the art of podcast creation through a mix of live sessions, virtual classes and one-to-one meetings with the Spotify team and our partners. From ideation and storytelling to interviewing, editing and producing, you’ll learn what it takes to make great content and see your ideas begin to take shape. As well as completing some home-based assignments, we’ll also ask you to submit an audio project at the end of our four weeks together. If all goes well, we’ll invite you to join us for the next phase where you’ll produce your pilot episode.
Our program is open to storytellers who have historically not had access to the resources and opportunities present in the growing audio and podcasting space. If you’re an aspiring female creator between the ages of 18 and 27, and you live in Mexico, we want to hear from you. You don’t need any previous experience. Passion is what’s important here – along with great ideas.
